Semester, Bachelor and Master Theses

We are working on a large variety of topics in the field of computer graphics / machine learning and related areas: Physics-based animation, rendering, geometric modeling, computational materials, computer-aided learning, medical simulations, display technology, as well as image and video-based techniques.

If you are looking for a semester, bachelor, or master thesis in our lab, take a look at our current offers listed below (Master Thesis, Semester/Bachelor Thesis). Some theses are done in collaboration with Disney Research, ETH Media Technology Center, ETH Game Technology Center and Arbrea Labs, checkout their pages for more projects. Although we try to keep this page up-to-date, other projects might be available. Therefore, if you are generally interested in computer graphics / machine learning and are searching for a project, talk to us.

If you are interested in a specific project, feel free to contact the supervisor over the [mailto] links, or if you have ideas, drop by; we are always looking for interested students. To schedule a first meeting where we can discuss multiple relevant projects, please contact the thesis coordinator (cgl-thesis@inf.ethz.ch) with your transcript and CV.

Remarks

It is still the case that grades have to be formally approved in the "Notenkonferenz" (grade conference) of the department. This implies that master students have to start before a specific date if they want to receive the master degree directly. If they miss one of these dates they have to wait 6 months for the degree after completion of the thesis. However, a receipt of successful completion of the master degree is given by the department if they start later (which is needed for job applications).
