About me
- In 2001 I received a MSc degree in Computer Science from ETH Zurich, Switzerland.
- Until mid 2005 I have been a research associate and Ph.D. candidate at the Computer Graphics Laboratory at the
Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) Zurich, Switzerland.
- In May 2005 I finished my PhD thesis on "Behavior Modeling and Real-time Simulation for Automomous Agents using Hierarchies and Level-of-Detail".
- After finishing my PhD I started working as a post-doctoral research associate at the Computer Graphics Laboratory (CGL) at ETH Zurich.
- Concurrently, I was Chief Software Architect of the NOVA project. I was responsible for the coordination of the software developments related to the project and designed and implementated the software for operations and content acquisition and creation myself.
- Now, I'm Chief Technology Officer at LiberoVision, an ETH Start-up company in the sports-media content enhancement market.
PhD Thesis
As a member of the Computer Graphics Laboratory @ ETH,
my PhD thesis deals with behaviour modeling of agents (=artificial characters) in a real-time environment
such as computer games. I built a software to simulate large numbers both reactive and proactive agents.
It uses a hierarchical approach for modeling that allows for easily defining sophhisticated agents,
and level-of-detail for the simulation to provide the most interesting behavior for the viewer.
